AMP Customers Help Fund Robotics Education in Alameda
The check represents funds collected in the 2019 fiscal year by Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) for Power Up for Learning, a joint program of AMP and AEF. The funding supports an island-wide robotics program for Alameda public school students.
By joining Power Up for Learning and adding an amount of their choice to their monthly electric bill, AMP customers have the opportunity to support technology education. Since the program began in 2004, AMP has collected more than $91,000 for Alameda’s public school students.
Robotics education helps students understand the scientific method and develop vital skills such as collaboration and teamwork. For as little as $1 per month, AMP customers can support robotics education by signing up for Power Up for Learning. You can find the donation form at www.AlamedaEducation.org.
Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) is a department of the city of Alameda that has served residents and businesses for 132 years. AMP provides power to more than 34,000 customers at rates that average 17 percent below neighboring communities.
